Stone Temple Pilots have finished recording a new album but don’t expect it any time soon…

STP, including new Lead Singer Jeff Gutt, had gotten in the studio to work on some acoustic stuff when “something else entirely” happened. Gutt explained more on Rock Talk with Mitch Lafon:

“It’s very instrumentally sound and sonic and it’s beautiful. It’s actually finished. It’s all new songs… We were only supposed to do a few songs, but it turned into a full record because we had so much creativity happening at the time… It’s definitely different.”

Even though the album is done, it isn’t going to be released anytime soon.

Stone Temple Pilots will be releasing a Super Deluxe 25th anniversary reissue of Purple on September 13th and will wait until the timing is right to release the new material.
