Nirvana set the stage for grunge lovers everywhere. Since the 1990’s, their influence is undeniable. Here’s 7 facts about Nirvana you might be discovering for the first time.

1) Nirvana’s debut single “Love Buzz” was a cover Song. It actually belongs to Dutch band Shocking Blue, who released it in 1969.

2) In the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” music video, the janitor is a reference to Kurt Cobain’s old job at his old high school.

3) Originally the music video for “Lithium” was meant to be a cartoon. They scraped it last minute because they found out it would have taken 4 months to make.

4) They got thrown out of their own record release party for “Nevermind” because they started a food fight.

7) The original title for “Heart Shaped Box” was “Heart Shaped Coffin.”
