Metallica is celebrating the “30th Anniversary” of the legendary Black Album (Self-Titled album )this year. Can you believe it’s been 30 years!? The album was released back in August of 1991 and spawned such hit songs as ‘Enter Sandman’, ‘Wherever I May Roam’, ‘The Unforgiven’, ‘Sad But True’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and helped solidify the band as one of the biggest Hard Rock acts of all time.

To commemorate the anniversary, the band has announced multiple reissues that will be available on September 10th via www.Metallica.com. One such reissue includes a limited edition numbered deluxe box set featuring 180-gram double LP and CD, “Sad But True” picture disc, three live LPs, 14 CDs and six DVDs featuring unreleased content (live shows, rough mixes, demos, etc.), MP3 download card of all audio, four tour laminates, lanyard, three lithographs, three guitar picks, lyric folder and sheets, and a 120-page hardcover book with never-before-seen photos + stories from those who were there. WOW!

Metallica will also be releasing “The Metallica Blacklist”, which is a 53 track covers album that will benefit various charities. The Blacklist album will be split into four different discs, featuring various artists delivering their own takes on the “Black Album” songs. Artists include Corey Taylor, Weezer, Miley Cyrus, Ghost, Royal Blood, Darius Rucker, Chris Stapleton, Volbeat, and more.
