The Winnipeg Jets will host the sixth annual WASAC (Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre) Game against the Arizona Coyotes, Sunday, February 25th at Canada Life Centre!

The game will celebrates Indigenous culture highlighted by sharing spaces with youth from northern and remote Indigenous communities.

Highlights of WASAC Night include:

  • A ceremonial puck drop honouring Indigenous youth and elders, including Manitoba’s first Indigenous judge and former member of the Canadian Senate, Murray Sinclair.
  • Anthem singer Rhonda Head, a Mezzo-Soprano vocalist from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, who will sing the Cree version of O Canada
  • An intermission performance of the Metis National Anthem by Métis singer Krista Rey
  • Cultural performances by Aboriginal Music Hall of Fame member Errol “C-Weed” Ranville, round dance singer Darryl Buck, and Inuit throat singers Nikki Komaksiutiksak and her daughters.
  • Team-issued autographed Winnipeg Jets WASAC jerseys will be available for auction on the concourse at the game. WASAC apparel, including limited edition Winnipeg Jets x FFO jackets are available now online at TrueNorthShop.com and at Jets Gear locations.
